Physician, healer, and author Micah Howard MD, ABOIM announces the release of Body of Work, his sixth published collection of poetry and prose. The book captures a pivotal span of personal and professional evolution, offering readers an unfiltered meditation on identity, vulnerability, and the lived experience of becoming. Body of Work marks the sixth volume in Micah Howard MD’s ongoing series of autobiographic philosophopoetrology. Dr. Howard is a Board-certified Integrative and Family Physician and currently serves as CEO and Medical Director of Healing University, Alabama’s first integrative primary care clinic, located in Decatur. A fellow and active associate in Integrative Medicine from the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, he received his Medical Doctorate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His clinical work is informed by both Western medicine and ancestral healing traditions, including Ayurvedic and Native American lineages, alongside extensive training as a Certified Master Hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner. While known for his work in medicine and healing, Howard’s literary roots precede his medical career. “Long before he turned his illuminated attention to healing humanity, Micah Howard was a published author. In his early 20s, he began chronicling his life for public consumption, choosing to be forthright and vulnerable for an audience he was only just meeting. Seven volumes and two decades later, his dedication hasn’t changed, and Body of Work stands as the latest tome capturing a time in his life that has helped forge the healer dedicated to changing lives around the world. You’re invited to enjoy and experience his creativity, in the hopes that you’ll be inspired to introspection and love of self. The prism always alights from within…” — Michael Stuart Dumas editor Body of Work continues Howard’s signature minimalist approach—each piece standing alone, unadorned, and direct. The collection resists performance and persuasion, instead inviting the reader into quiet reckoning and self-recognition. It is less a declaration than an offering. Micah Howard MD, ABOIM is a physician, author, and educator whose work bridges medicine, consciousness, and literature. He is the author of six published collections of prose, philosophy, and short stories, with additional works forthcoming.
