Children’s of Alabama has named Clara Blitch, MBA, MSML, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CHHR as the new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

Blitch brings more than 25 years of experience in human resources across healthcare and biotechnology industries. Most recently, she served as CHRO at Williamson Health in Franklin, Tennessee, where she led HR efforts for more than 2,400 employees and over 30 sites of care.

Prior to Williamson Health, Blitch held HR leadership roles at Consulate Health Care, HCA Healthcare, Brookdale Senior Living, and RTI Biologics.

Blitch holds a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Science in Management and Leadership, and a bachelor’s degree in marketing. She also maintains professional certifications, including SPHR, SHRM-SCP, and CHHR. She has previously served as president of the Wiregrass chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. She succeeds Doug Dean who will retire after 25 years of service.
