Michael Bartell, MPH, FACHE, has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Lakeshore Rehabilitation Hospital, formerly known as HealthSouth Lakeshore Rehabilitation Hospital.

Bartell previously served as CEO of Encompass Health's hospital in Phenix City, Alabama, and as the associate administrator at the Company's hospital in Sarasota, Florida. His other experience includes serving as a director of a product line and a vice president of marketing and business development in acute care hospitals in California.

Bartell received a master's degree in public health specializing in health administration from Loma Linda University and a bachelor's degree in health science from Fresno Pacific University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard.
